Liat Yossifor received her BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1996 and her MFA from the University of California, Irvine, in 2002. 

She was the recipient of Villa Aurora and Thomas Mann House Berlin Fellowship, Germany, in 2022; an artist-in-residence at the Rauschenberg residency in Captiva Island, Florida, in 2020; and a guest of the Deutsche Börse Residency Program at the Frankfurter Kunstverein, Frankfurt, in Germany in 2010.
